Competitions & Awards at the International Collegiate Conference
There’s no substitute for real-world experience and competitive creativity. Put your classroom knowledge to work with AMA’s exclusive student competitions and awards programs! AMA student members from around the world participate in a wide variety marketing challenges on campus and at national and international events. Here are a few hands-on opportunities for AMA student members:

Annual Case Competition
The Annual Case Competition allows students to gain real world marketing experience and the chance for recognition by industry leaders. Chapter teams tackle a real life marketing challenge from a corporate sponsor and are rewarded for the best ideas, research and plans. The case competition is held each year at the AMA International Collegiate Conference.
The Northwestern Mutual Sales Competition
The Northwestern Mutual Sales Competition is an ideal opportunity to compete one-on-one against other AMA marketing students and test your ability to close the sale and win cash prizes! The sales competition takes place at the AMA International Collegiate Conference. Each competitor will present a prepared sale on a product of his or her choice.
SABRE Business Simulation
SABRE™, ( Strategic Allocation of Business REsources), is a market simulation developed by IIBD and used in its executive courses and in MBA programs worldwide, including Wharton, University of North Carolina, University of Michigan and abroad.
SABRE provides a competitive environment that immerses the participants in a dynamic and competitive situation. Teams may add and withdraw products from the marketplace as well as advertise, price, distribute and design those products to best fit various market segments. This competition is held annually at the AMA International Collegiate Conference.
Collegiate Chapter Exhibit Competition
The AMA International Collegiate Conference offers each chapter the opportunity to show their school spirit and marketing creativity, by building their own booth. These exhibits which are presented in trade show fashion are built during the conference by students. Fellow students, as well as guest judges, select the winners! Awards are given for: Best Educational Value, Best Use of Conference Theme, Best Communication of Chapter Activities and Best Overall Exhibit.
Chapter T-Shirt Contest
Each year at the AMA International Collegiate Conference, Chapters are encouraged to design a chapter T-shirt that represents their chapter or University spirit, or deals with the AMA International Collegiate Conference theme. Students will have the opportunity to exchange T-shirts with fellow AMA chapters and enter to compete in the best chapter T-Shirt Competition.
AMA Student Marketer of the Year Award
The AMA Student Marketer of the Year Award focuses on the varieties of ways AMA collegiate members demonstrate excellence and commitment to their AMA chapter and the Collegiate Chapter Division mission. The award recognizes AMA collegiate members who demonstrate superior leadership, service to the AMA, academic achievement and positive impact on their communities. Award recipients are recognized at the AMA International Collegiate Conference, but do not need to be present to be nominated and awarded.
Alpha Mu Alpha
Membership status in Alpha Mu Alpha is available to individuals who attend a college or university having an established AMA collegiate chapter and/or who attend a regionally or nationally accredited institution. Under the auspices of the AMA, a selected advisory committee of marketing educators designed the Alpha Mu Alpha recognition program to acknowledge outstanding scholastic achievement on a highly competitive basis.
